Make loyalty feel like discovery.
Traditional punch cards and points systems can feel purely transactional. BeeBack began with a question from a local business: how might a loyalty program make customers genuinely excited to return, especially on slow days?
The answer was an AR experience—“Pokémon GO for local businesses”—where customers discover virtual rewards in physical spaces. The work spanned identity, mobile interactions, merchant tools, launch material, and front-end implementation.
Teach AR by letting people use it.
AR brings unusual constraints: unpredictable light, physical movement, and unfamiliar gestures. Progressive onboarding made the first reward easy to find, then introduced location-based discoveries, time-limited offers, collections, and social mechanics.
A creative tool, not another spreadsheet.
The customer app was only half of the system. A web dashboard let business owners place rewards, manage seasonal campaigns, segment audiences, and see which incentives drove engagement.
- Drag-and-drop reward placement using a map interface
- Analytics tied to reward engagement
- Campaign management and customer segmentation
- Accurate previews before publishing
Play connected to business value.
Pilot partners saw stronger engagement and increased repeat visits. The app maintained a 4.8/5 rating, with users responding to the accessible interaction and sense of discovery. The key was using gamification to make loyalty more rewarding—not more manipulative.
